Status
School Resourcing Services (SRS) is a new Service Area formed in 2008 as a result of the structural reorganization within the Ministry of Education. This service area is in its early stages of formation. The National Textbook Programme, Government Bookstore and the Building and Maintenance Unit are currently operating under SRS, with School Children Transportation and Materials Production to be transferred in the near future.

SRS provides technical support services to schools, through close collaboration with the District Education Centres and other Service Areas.

History
The National Textbook Programme which commenced in 2007 provides free textbooks to all children in grant-aided and public primary schools.

The Building and Maintenance Unit emerged as an independent unit in early 2005 when civil works officers from the Education Training and Employment Service Area who had been working with the ETVET project were tasked to address the schools' physical infrastructure on an annual basis.

School Children Transportation has existed under the responsibilities of General School Services while Materials Production has been operating under QADS.
